For Patients


Prescriptions are renewed during normal office hours and you must be currently under our care (i.e. seen within the last 12 months). We would appreciate it if you have the pharmacy fax a request to our office, with the following information:

Refills generally take 24 to 48 hours to process. If at any time you have questions about how to take your prescription, please do not hesitate to call the office and ask to speak to one of our nurses. She or he will answer your questions, or if necessary, talk to your physician and get back to you promptly.

Prescription refills will not be processed after regular business hours except in the case of true emergencies.

Emergency Care

While we encourage patients to call during normal office hours, we understand certain cardiac conditions can occur at unpredictable times. Therefore, we are available 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year in case of an emergency. After normal office hours, our answering service will contact the cardiologist on call and he or she will contact you shortly. If you think you may be having a serious problem or life-threatening emergency, do not hesitate to call 911 or go to the Emergency Department at Providence Tarzana Medical Center, West Hills Medical Center, or the hospital nearest you. The emergency department will contact us.

Test Results

Test results will be given to you or your referring physician as soon as they become available. If you have an appointment scheduled, your cardiologist may go over the results with you at that time. If you already have been instructed to call for your test results, please be prepared to give the following information:

In most instances, we encourage patients to make appointments to discuss the results of the tests, unless specifically instructed to call for the results. Based on the results of the exam and office testing, a follow up visit or further diagnostic procedures may be required at a later date. Your cardiologist will discuss further treatment recommendations with you, when appropriate.

Insurance And Billing

We participate in most PPO plans. If you are in a managed care plan, it is your responsibility to obtain prior authorization from your primary care physician for each visit. We can bill your insurance company only with prior authorization.

For your convenience, we accept cash, checks and Visa/MasterCard. If you have billing or insurance questions or would like to discuss possible alternative payment arrangements, please contact our Business Office Supervisor at 818-345-5782.

Working with Other Physicians

At Cardiology Consultants Medical Group, our primary focus is caring for medical conditions related to the heart. In doing so, we will work very closely with patients’ primary care physicians and keep them informed of our services and recommendations. For health matters unrelated to the heart, we encourage patients to see their primary care physician. At times, it may be necessary for us to refer a patient to other medical or surgical specialists. In doing so, we will remain in contact with the specialist to ensure that our patients receive the proper care they need.
